Wrong heart rate

My Forerunner 255 shows correct readings when I'm resting, but displayed the wrong heart rate throughout my indoor cycling workout. The Forerunner's readings were far too low (eg. showing 88bpm instead of the 150bpm shown on my Zwift using a chest strap). I tried all the obvious fixes: repositioning watch on wrist, cleaning sensor, rebooting and checking for software updates.

  • You can pair ant+ strap to zwift and watch at the same time if you wear it. Have no such problems with my bike activity.

  • The infrared sensor of my FR255 has never worked properly when exercising (no issue when resting). Like what you say, it tends to under read my true HR, in general by a lot.

It isn't new, I noticed as soon as I bought the watch, and bought a chest strap.
