Hello. I own a Garmin 255, but without nusic and I hate luggin my phone around to listen to tunes. There’s a used Garmin 245 for sale for $150. Do you think it’s worth it to switch? I like the training status and hrv features on the 255. Thanks!

With such downgrade you lose a HRV tracking. It's too important for me. I wouldn't do it.

Just use your phone for music. Get a flipbelt or similar. I run miles like that and dont even notice it and I have a 965

Usually, the battery for music from a watch is enough just for ~6 hours of listening (and less for used old model), so you will need to charge your watch after every 2-3 trainings. I have the music version of 255, but I don't use this functionality because of the battery, and I can't listen the long podcasts because of the inconvenient controls
Sometimes I use phone but I'll hold it in my hand and use the speaker. Flipbelt is bad for your hips I tried it before and I didn't like the weight of the phone on me. Ipod shuffle weighs 11g, clip it to shorts, run the cable under your shirt and it's amazing. Change songs, volume, pause, playlists instantly without even looking.

Do the same on my fr255m on running. Without cable. Full control from a buds. And yes, i do recharge my watch every 4 days but it's ok.
