Run data

Hi all! I had today a workout based on 5x50 meters, 50 meters running and 50 meters coming back to starting point by walking.

Each start I pressed LAP button and after 50 meters I pressed again LAP button, and walk, so 10 times LAP.

On the results page on GARMIN CONNECT I see that first two phases LAPS 1 and 2 are recorded as WARM-UP, and each WALK after the 50 meters run is recorded as RECOVERY altough I did not specify anything about the phases. The last phase is recorded as COOLDOWN.

I can't understand why it's so, despite I did not specify anything about the cycle WARM UP and COOLDOWN steps.

Thanks!

  • That's Garmin's Automatic Interval Categorization, which "...will categorize your laps as warm-up, run, or rest periods once the activity is uploaded to Garmin ConnectTm. Pace will become a factor to determine your intervals."

  • Hi Bitti, Understood, however in my run the first step a fast run 50 meters and after uploading to GARMIN CONNECT, I can see that LAP1 is categorized as "WARM-UP"........ is probably because it was expected as first step a warm-up instead of a fast run 50m ?

Additionally, how can I disactivate the Automatic Interval Categorization" I didn't find the way anywhere.

    Thanks

  • I don't know of any way to turn it off, and based on quick googling, it seems neither does anybody else.
