I got a message yesterday to update my forerunner 255 and after that the battery is draining really fast on the watch... I am pretty sure it was over 45% and today it was like 2%?? Anyone else having the same problem? (version 24.12)

Yes, since the update, battery draining completely on daily basis now. First issue I had was that it didn't update time while I was in a different time zone. Then it was turning on and off, which I found…
I’m having the same issue with my Forerunner 255 on firmware 24.12.
In my case the symptoms are:
The watch restarts randomly while idle, with no activity running.

Try to turn the watch off and on again. Sometimes that is needed after a new version.
Yes, since the update, battery draining completely on daily basis now. First issue I had was that it didn't update time while I was in a different time zone. Then it was turning on and off, which I found was similar to old issue of corrupt gps file, so I re-set the watch/reinstalled. Tried also power off and then restart. I've turned off almost all features except for bluetooth connection to phone (for steps only, no notifications or anything) and it still drained from full to 0 today. Frustrating for something that wasn't broken before. Anyone else having this problem?

Later the same day, during a trail running activity, the watch froze after about 3 minutes. It then unlocked itself. I restarted the activity and it worked fine for more than an hour and a half, but then it froze again, unlocked, and restarted.
I uninstalled all IQ apps and did a factory reset. I also fully charged it to 100%, discharged it down to 1%, and charged back to 100%.
The next day, with the battery at 96%, the watch began to overheat while on my wrist. I removed it, and a few minutes later it cooled down but the battery had already dropped to 46%.
Later, during a running activity, the device restarted again. I tried restarting the activity twice; it crashed both times. A few minutes later I tried once more and was able to complete the session.
