The Forerunner 255 Underestimates My Speed

I recently replaced a Forerunner 245, which I gave to my partner, with a Forerunner 255.
I have three complementary reasons to believe that the Forerunner 255 underestimates my speed:
* The Forerunner 245 assigns my partner a higher speed than the Forerunner 255 assigns me, even though I'm running slightly faster than her.
* The speed assigned to me by the Decat' Coach app, which I use alongside the Forerunner 255, consistently assigns me a higher speed than the Forerunner 255.
* The Forerunner 255 assigns me speeds lower than the Forerunner 245.
Have other users experienced this type of problem?
How can I fix this?

  • 1. Is it about speed(m/s) or pace(min/km)?

    2. What is "assigned speed"?

  • @ global-local
Thank you for taking an interest in my problem.
    * I'm talking about speed (km/h) and not pace (mn/km).
    * I'm referring mainly to Nordic walking, which I do at average speeds of around 6 km/h over 10 km to 18 km.
    * Since I posted my previous message, I've been wondering whether my problem isn't due to the fact that I'm using at the SAME TIME:
        * the Forerunner 255 watch (and the Garmin Connect app)
        * the Decat'Coach app, which also measures my speed.

  • I assume it is an outdoor activity, so you using a GNSS data to track your speed etc. Have you checked that a fr255 does data writing every second, not "intelligent?"

  • @ Global-local,

    Merci beaucoup.
