Hello, I have a question about route navigation in the FR255 watch. I import the route as GPX via Garmin connect. After uploading the route and starting navigation, the watch reduces the points, which subsequently causes navigation problems (especially removing breakpoints in turns). So I would like to know: 1) how many points in the route is the maximum for the watch to no longer simplify the route - 200? 500? 1000? (I mean breakpoints of the curve ("trkpt" in GPX file), not points of interest). If I knew the limit, I would then edit the GPX file before uploading it to the watch. 2) does this reduction differ in different models? 3) is it possible to avoid this behaviour? I am considering upgrading to, for example, the FR265/955/965, but if these higher models behave the same, it makes no sense to me.
Garmin support is unable to answer this question...
PS: i tried it in FR165 and the behaviour is the same :(
