Forerunner 255, watch faces not installing

I bought a Garmin Forerunner which arrived yesterday. It took several hours to update firmware to 23.20, and afterward I tried to install some watch faces from ConnectIQ. The button to install shows up, I press it, accept the access the face needs. Then it says "Installing" with the little ring going round for a few seconds before it returns to just the big blue "install" button. No matter how many times I press it, it never actually installs the watch face.

I've power cycled the watch and the phone. I've done forget and re-pair device, and I've completely uninstalled and reinstalled both Connect and ConnectIQ (and powered off my phone before reinstalling). Given how long it took to transfer the firmware update, I'm assuming some form of connectivity issue. I watched a video where someone was talking about setting up wifi connection on the watch, but I couldn't find his options in the app (the video was three years old).

I've already owned a Vivoactive HR and 4s and never had this issue before, so I'm assuming it's something to do with the new watch, but can't figure it out. Any suggestions for what to try next?

EDIT: Never mind! It suddenly started working for no discernible reason! maybe it was just feeling a bit slow today. Couldn’t figure out how to delete the post, so mods feel free to do it. Sweat smile
