Edit running pace

In the run activity, I have a user screen with a target pace, where I can see if I am in front or behind my pre selected pace.

I do however struggle to edit the pace in version 22.24. I have edited it before, but now I am stuck. I don't know if it is a bug, or I am just doing it wrong. I go to run settings on the watch, and select data screens. Then I scroll to the pace screen, and select Set Pace. I change the pace, and press the start/stop button. A screen with "confirm" comes up, but I can't confirm. No matter what I do, my new pace is not confirmed. Is it only possible to confirm on touch screens?

  • I also tried to change the pace in the virtual partner running screen on my phone by bluetooth in the Connect app, and that failed as well. I changed the value, chose OK, and the value just popped back to what it was before.

I don't think this is any screen or data field from the IQ store, but the native Garmin running app.

  • I acknowledge the bug. I have even tried to change the pace of "virtual partner" on a phones GC - not possible Slight smile I'm on beta 23.15.

  • Ouch. That is a quite serious bug on a watch made primarily for running. I hope they can fix it in the next software release.

  • I think I have the same since this morning, so I usually have only five different screens with the running activity. Somehow since this morning I have a screen added which says run 0.00 and a screen with @4.15. No idea how to get rid of it.

  • A colleague has a Forerunner 955, and he has the same bug, so I guess this affects a lot of Garmin owners.

  • It is still not possible to change the target pace for the virtual partner in the running app in the freshly released software 23.20. Now the target pace always shows 3:00 minutes per km (20 km/h) on my watch.

  • This post was temporarily gone from the forum, so I created a new post with updated information. Here is a copy of what I found:

"But I did some more testing, and found that the virtual partner screen in the run app has a bicycle symbol on it. I went to the bike ride app, and changed the target speed in the virtual partner screen there. That updated the value in the running app as well. This works fine as a workaround for me, as I rarely ever need the virtual partner for cycling anyway."

  • Unfortunately the workaround did't last long. Now the watch is back to showing a target pace of 4:45 again. And it can't be changed.
