Backside of the 255

Hi, question on the backside of the 255, what are the four rectangular parts around the two squared green light sensors ?

I understood the two green light are the sensors mesuring the heart beat frequency, but green light is sometime continuous, sometime intermittent.... what's the difference?

In the user manual there's no indication and I am so curious! sorry!

Thank you Relaxed

  • The green lights are just that: led lights, they don't sense anything. The four squares around them are the light sensors measuring reflected light. (And the lights are red during oxygen saturation measurement.)

When not in activity, readings are only taken periodically, not constantly, to save battery. That's why the lights blink.

  • Thank you for your reply, very clear. And as far as I have tryed, it's not possible to avoid measurements of heart frequency off the activities.. I wonder if there's a way to allow the measurements only during activities but it seems not. This is just to save battery (if I am working sitting on a chair why should I monitor the heart frequency?)

    Do you agree?

    Thanks!

  • Some of the features of the watch that evaluates your shape, body battery, restitution and training effect rely on heart rate measurements outside your activities.

  • Understood! thank you for the explanation.
