Counting STEPS in a walk

hi everyone, yesterday afternoon I set a "walk" on my 255. When I started the walk I had already done 2350 steps since the morning. However, I wanted to know the steps related to the walk I was about to start and therefore I thought of adding a data field to the screen that appears during the walk, with the number of steps, and it worked, at the end of the walk I had read 6780 steps. Once the walk was finished, I saved the activity. Later, wanting to check it again, I went to HISTORY, select it, but the number of steps 6780 was not indicated anywhere, therefore the information was lost.
Is it possible to insert the number of steps in the summary that comes out of the upload to HISTORY?
Is it possible to customize the summary screens of the activity uploaded to HISTORY, adding other screens?

I also miss that. I did however find a workaround. You can compute the number of steps from other data fields, like time, distance, cadence or stride length.

You see the steps done in the activity logically under your activity stats here

Thanks! That's ok for walking activities, I found the no. of steps. Question: is possible to see the no. of steps on the watch or on the mobile other than on the PC?

But for running activities I cannot find the number of steps altough I set the screen to count the steps during the activity itself. And if I do not see the number of steps done at the end of the activity, once activity recorded, this information is missing! I can't find it anywhere. Any suggestion? Thanks

But as I mentioned, you have other data that makes it possible to compute the number of steps.

Yes, that's sure. But it seems to me uncomfortable to make calculations to compute the number of steps. There are lots of informations coming from the running activity but not the numebrof steps, and that's a bit strange!

BTW, no chance to record the number of steps during a run. Yesterday I made 10km running and 12k steps, but this information is not appearing in the HISTORY.

The data is recorded, but not shown. We are given time, distance, cadence and stride length. From these data, the number of steps are given, but Garmin don't understand that this is an interesting metric for us, so we need to calculate it ourselves. There is clearly room for improvement here.

On the mobile you have the exact steps counts. You tap the activity, and then on upper line on "stats".

Then under "cadence" there is the exact number of steps.
