Garmin Forerunner 255 v21.22 stuck in boot loop

Hello,

My Forerunner 255 is getting caught in a boot loop consistently when I go to start an activity with no way to exit the boot loop other than doing the steps to do a hard reset via the Light, Start/Stop and Back buttons.

I have reset my watch about 4 times already and I am still experiencing this issue, I am on v21.22 (latest) and I am unsure if it is related to the race widget as I do have a training plan currently in place for a race in May

  • I have this same problem but don't know how to exit the boot loop. I try to reset it but when it comes back on, it just loops again.

  • do this to exit the loop.

    However crashes again when paired.

  • Same. Was fine yesterday. This is what it is doing now. Hard reset does nothing.
Occurred when starting an activity this evening. Have had this 255 for 2 years.
First time it's ever skipped a beat. Hope this is fixed fast. I'm dead in the water without my Garmin :-(

  • This reset method worked the second time I tried it. The first time, the watch was connected to power and just went into reboots again. The second time seems to be OK. Completely new pairing with phone.

  • having the same issue on both fenix 8 and fr255

  • Spoke too soon. I just pressed the start/stop button to start an activity and it's gone into reboot loop again.

  • Have you used a GE after reset? See a parallel thread. In short, don't sync with GE after the reset.

  • Same issue, hard reset appeared to work but first activity sent it back to boot loop with blue triangle coming on and off. Left it like this for an hour before doing the multibutton hard reset.

Looking forward to an answer soon.
