Forerunner 255 crashes

Today the watch totaly crashed by starting a run.

Hard reset does not work, i see only the triangel.

We are aware of the disruption of devices displaying a blue triangle when starting a GPS activity. Holding the power button until the unit powers off may or may not restore functionality temporarily…

Yep, bricked Forerunner 255. I started a walk and flashing triangle. A soft reset does nothing.

I'm not using beta firmware; had an update about a week ago.

Additionally the Connect app on my phone…

Got it as a gift. Went to do my first run today and it crashed as soon as I pressed start. Needless to say extremely disappointed. Saw someone saying Garmin will send you a refurbished for 280 bucks and then hold yours as collateral then refund you only 160 which is horrible. Completely let down by this forerunner 255, wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Same problem here (Forerunner 255).

I inadvertently found a way to get the watch back on at least telling the time. Pressing and holding my "Light" button for about 15s forces a power off. If I have it plugged in when turning it back on it still blinks with the blue triangle for a while, but eventually gets the watch back onto the main time screen. It crashes immediately if I press the button to start an activity though.

If you hold the LIGHT button for about 15-20 seconds, the device will power off.
You can then use the reset instructions :-)

My forerunner 255 crashed today during the start of an activity. Couple of hours later, there is still a triangle flashing on the screen.

i cannot do a hard reset. Watch is completely blocked. Please advice what to do.
