Forerunner 255 crashes

Today the watch totaly crashed by starting a run.

Hard reset does not work, i see only the triangel.

Yep, bricked Forerunner 255. I started a walk and flashing triangle. A soft reset does nothing.

I'm not using beta firmware; had an update about a week ago.

Additionally the Connect app on my phone…

Yes. After the first master reset (described in my post), there was an update pending and after it restarted back to boot loop and needing to master reset again. However, it does the same after turning off the auto-update now so I guess this update is already installed an possibly causing the issue.

I also have the same issue and received the blue triangle. I resetted the entire watch (30 sec holding light, then start/back and down buttons together with light and releasing the start button. After reset and reinstallment of all settings watch looked ok. But after pressing run again same problem occured

Same issue with my Garmin 255 Music.
Went to do a bike ride this morning and it went into the boot loop.

I have reset using the instructions here and managed to sync with Garmin Express (but it wouldn't pair with my phone).
Sync'd with express and then went to start an activity, back to the boot loop!

I am having the same issue (Forerunner 255S Music, SW version 21.22). As soon as I start an activity I end up in a boot loop. Did this master reboot several times now and the watch works fine until I start an activity. Which makes it pretty useless. :-(

Just done some testing. Device is fine after a factory reset, picks up GPS and allows me to do activities.
As soon as I sync with Express, once I try to do an activity it goes into the boot loop...

It also looks like Garmin Support have shut up shop as well.

I confirm this happened with my FR255 as well, completely out of the blue. I did a factory reset and seems to work now.
