Forerunner 255 crashes

Mine has just crashed too

Mine has just crashed too with blue triangle

same issue here, leading to a boot loop. i could get out of the bootloop by turning off the device (hold "light"-button for 30 seconds).

then, did a (soft?) reset, by holding start/stop and down at the same time, then, while holding those, also hold back and light until beep. at first beep, releast start/stop. at second beep, release all other buttons.

Then, i removed from garmin connect app and phone bluetooth and readded everything - some settings were gone.

i was able to use the device for a run this way, but after syncing it crahsed again. I did the same thing, and so far it appears to work, but i have not done an activity yet. will check tomorrow.

i am running 21.22 software version.

Had the same thing when starting a run activity. put the FR255 in boot loop showing only triangle, and repeating turning on / turning off.

the following worked once:

hold "light" button for 15+ seconds to turn off.

perform reset by:

- hold start/stop and down

- keep holding, but now also hold back and light

- on first beep, release start/stop

- on second beep, release all.

then i removed device from phone (connect app and bluetooth settings) and readded.

i could go for a run and sync, but then the same thing happened again.

I redid the above, and now everything appears to work, although i have not yet started an activity.

Same problem here. Keeps on crashing when i want to start a run.

There seems to be some update, did any of you have autoupdate on?

Same thing happened with mine (255 on beta 22.14) - turned itself off and boot loop with repeated triangle displaying and then turning off.
Was able to get it to turn on by doing a non-vol clear (master reset) described in this thread: Master reset

I am not able to sync it anymore though. When following the QR code on the watch the device page in Garmin Connect (Pixel 8) is shown but sync is not triggered. If I turn off the watch it goes back to the boot loop and require a master reset again to turn it on.

EDIT: I am not 100% sure but the first shutdown might have occurred after starting a Bike activity.

Same here. Reset several times using the 3 button press method and having to remove and re add my watch to garmin connect. Seems to work OK as long as I don't load a run.
