Estimated Distance on Training Plan, different to what I actually run.

On my marathon training plan, it has estimated distance of 23km for my long run in Zone 2. Most of my long runs dont match the estimated distance as I assume my Zone 2 is slower than the watch thinks. Am I missing out on valuable kms in the legs since I do the workout but my distance is shorter than garmin thinks it should be?
