Forerunner 255 - has vibration intensity changed or is my watch damaged?

I've had my watch for a few months now, but 2 days ago I started getting very loud and intense 'double buzzes' as a vibration alert any time a notification came through. This wasn't the case before, as I could get a vibration notification and be the only one that notices, while now I've had people in the room with me ask about how loud my watch is. I know a few days ago I got an automatic software/system update - could that have anything to do with it, or have I somehow damaged my watch?

I don't want to have to turn notifications off as I like having it as a smartwatch. From the settings it doesn't look like there's a way to manage vibration levels?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

  • There have been other models in the past where the vibration motor has come loose. Best would be to contact support and send then a video with sound to show the issue. You'll probably have to send the watch in for inspection.
