Wrong data in running

Since yesterday, when running my watch is useless.

My pace goes to 30s per km (multiple WR incoming?). When I change to bike, it seems alright. I did no change.

Today, I tried to walk 20s and watch recorded 300m with 344m total ascent. Not sure if reset the watch will work. I turned off multiple times.

This started to happen after the watch battery died during a run. Not sure if it correlated but I have a watch that is useless currently

  • I find the 255 is also really bad for me with indoor runs with GPS off. I run around an indoor track, 10km around the same pace, and the watch often messes up my pace/distance. I also use an Apple Watch and this has never, ever happened with it.

If you have access to a treadmill, start a treadmill run activity, run at least 1.5 miles, and then when you save the activity, you can recalibrate the distance based on the treadmill distance.

In my experience, the 255 should do a smoother job recording pace/distance after the calibration, however it is still not very accurate. Mine was reading 850 meters per km run, even after a treadmill calibration. I just recalibrated it again and I'm sure it will continue reading inaccurately, but at least it's not as bad as it used to be, stopping recording my pace for 10-12 minutes during my runs.

Garmin suggested that if you have access to a treadmill, start a treadmill run activity, run at least 1.5 miles, and then when you save the activity, you can recalibrate the distance based on the actual treadmill distance.

Here is a link for you regarding the treadmill run calibration:
