I've had my FR255 for approaching 2 years now, and for the first time got a very spurious GPS track using UltraTrac. This is Northern California, teleporting me from the SF East Bay Area to the Tahoe National Forest and back. The rest of the route follows my actual path with just minor meandering and rounded corners.
I had a normal lock before I started the activity. I first noticed something was wrong when my 1 mile auto lap alerted when I'd probably gone less than 0.2 miles. The big departure on the map is from near where I got this alert, shooting a linear segment out to a point maybe 150 miles away, then straight back. The rest of the walk must have also had some noise, as the lap alerts still triggered earlier than they should. For the hour, it reported 4.3 miles when it normally reports 2.95 to 3.05 for the same route.
I don't expect us to have jammers here like are reported near Ukraine. But, I hope it is some kind of radio interference and not a new "feature" after the last firmware update to 21.19!
It's also annoying me a little that there are online descriptions of being able to edit the track on Garmin Connect, but I see no such feature in GCM Android nor GC Web. I imagine this is just one bad GPS fix in the sequence, and removing it would improve the track a lot. But, when I start the edit mode, the map disappears. I'm not motivated enough to look into exporting to other tools etc. I just wish my recording in Connect looked more reasonable.
