Gesture during activity Garmin 255 ( BUG )

Well I wish someone fix this BUG issue

If you want to use Gesture During workout

you must set gesture in General Use to " ON "  too ( even you not use gesture in General use )  ,but that's only way to use gesture during your run

if you set Gesture " ON " during activity ,but " OFF " in general Use than that's not going work.

then why you separate setting for 2 mode ( Activity & General ) at first place if you can't setup both different from each other.

  • More Info : my case I only want to use during run so I set gesture "on" during activity  ,but  "off " in general use.this's my setup during activity gesture : after sunset , timeout : 4 sec . So during my run backlight start turn itself on even I didn't turn my wrist & once the backlight on it never turn back off even I set timeout 4 sec. just like you have a headlamp on your wrist & it kill alot of battery.

  • Hi ! You should be able to have Gesture OFF for General use and ON for During Activity. I just did a few tests on my FR 255 and was unable to reproduce what you described- mine worked as expected with Gesture and Timeout set for 4 seconds. I know that sometimes the Gesture function can be tricky during activities since your arms are usually swinging and your body is moving. If you start an activity for testing purposes and stand still- does the gesture motion light up your screen? I am not sure why your Timeout would not be honoring 4 seconds, however. May I have permission to reach you via email so we can further investigate? Thank you!

  • After my run I contact garmin (Chat online) Garmin customer service  & they told me that my setup was wrong because I set Gesture in General use to " OFF " .I'll do more test after holiday & I give you a permission for further investigate.
