DSW not generated on watch anymore?

Hi,

When I used DSW before (up to FW 18.xx) the next 7 days of workouts was always visible on the watch, and it seemed to update in "real time". What I mean by that, is that it could change right after each workout, with our without a connection to the phone.

In the last 2 weeks or so I started using DSW again (on FW 20.xx). I was happy when I saw that they integrate with garmin coach now, because it means I can see the workouts in the calendar. However, I noticed that each morning on the morning report I only see "run day" or "rest day" messages instead of a DSW (I turn off internet connection on my phone at night). When I click to see the whole plan, it's all just "run days" and "rest days". Once I turn the internet back on and synchronize the watch with my phone, they weekly plan fills in.

I don't really like that, so I've removed my "garmin coach" training plan. My workouts disappeared from the calendar, and I assumed DSW would be generated on the watch once again. Unfortunatelly, I still see just "run days" and "rest days" on the morning report screen.

Can anyone confirm that DSW is not generated on the watch anymore? Is there any way to restore that plan generation to the watch?

  • Mine shows on the watch ok (965) on Calendar you have look for the extra days using more suggestion using the start button

Or go to activity then settings training workouts and they should be there

is the DSW toggle still on?

    Under calander setting workout prompt

also when I’ve had issue doing a soft reset (hold in power button until watch shuts off then restart in say 20 secs) helps

  • That's what I mean - In the morning, when I open up daily suggested workouts (doesn't matter if I go through run -> workouts, or workouts app -> running), and then open up "more suggestions" I see something like:
    - monday - run day
    - tuesday - run day
    - wednesday - rest day
    - thursday - run day
    - etc.

Then after I turn on the internet on my phone and synchronize, I can see the workouts as usual:
    - monday - base run
    - tuesday - recovery run
    - wednesday - rest day
    - thursday - tempo run
    - etc.

So it looks like without synchornizing with Garmins servers, the watch doesn't know what workouts to suggest, which wasn't the case in older firmwares
