Post-interval data screen setup

Question about something I haven't found in the 255. I'll give you an example of a workout to make it easier to explain.

5x 400m Run / 1' Rest

I had a 920XT a while back and I remember that I could set it so that when I finished the 400m stretch, the display would show me the time and pace of the lap. This helped me not to stray from my goal, for example, to keep the intervals between 5 seconds.

I currently have a 255 and I can't leave this option. It always shows me the pace and distance, which in this case doesn't help me at all.

Sometimes I also do workouts in the format
- 5x 2' Run / 1' Rest
and I would like the distance and pace to be shown so that I could, for example, keep the intervals within 50 meters.

Is it possible to do this configuration on the 255?

  • This isn't exactly what you're looking for, but you could set up a custom data screen with Last Lap Pace and Last Lap Time fields. Assuming you have auto-lap disabled, these fields should always correspond to the pace and time for your last interval. (Even if auto-lap were enabled, it would only make a difference if your last interval was longer than your auto-lap distance.)

  • I remember thinking about it but I guess I was so eager to find this setup that I completely forgot about it.

It will sure do for now, thanks for the help!

  • I can't be sure, but isn't the "end of workout screen" just a lap screen? You can configure what is shown on the lap screen if you go to run settings -> laps -> lap alerts, or something similar (my watch is not in english, so I can't be sure what the english menu items are called ;) ).

  • No, when a workout interval ends, it doesn’t display the normal lap alert screen.

And even when you have auto-lap enabled, when a lap automatically fires during an interval, the standard lap alert screen is not shown. Instead, a custom screen is shown with fixed information (it includes information about both the lap and interval, iirc.)

  • It should be, but it ain't. I've set up there to show what I want but it just won't. No idea why. - lol

I remember with my 920xt that every update it made I had to go and reset it to show what I wanted, but here it just won;t change.

I believe that the new data screen idea will suit for now.
