How to revert to older software? Avoid 20.26 it is a mess!

Having all sorts of issues with 20.26 - avoid it at all cost. Does anyone know how to revert to an older version of the watch software?

People have been complaining about the poor battery life on the 255/955 in the beta program for a while. Shocking that they released v20.26 as a stable version without fixing the battery life issues.

I was hoping to find out the same thing. The new update is draining my battery like crazy. From 100% to 60% in 24 hrs.

sync the watch with the phone and then make a reset to defaults in the watch

I feel a bit stupid, but where should I see the temperature?
I found the elevation for my run in the charts, but I can't find the temperature.

Where would the latter come from? As far as I know, the watch cannot measure the ambient temperature.

Hi Adam,

That's a totally valid question. No worries. You will see the temperature in your run report if it is set in "Run Settings". In "Run Settings" on your watch, turn on "Record Temperature".

Agreed. I used the beta (for 165 though) and reported some issues. Didn't even get a reply and it doesn't seem like the issues are getting fixed, at least not for v20.26. Garmin needs to make a plan to fix the firmware and qa process because it's upsetting a lot of the users.

It appears Garmin follows a regular quarterly update cycle, often releasing software updates even when there are unresolved issues from beta testing. While it's understandable that no software will ever be completely free of bugs, some problems—like excessive battery drain or unstable Bluetooth connections—affect all users and should warrant delaying the release.

As a result, I’ve turned off automatic updates. When I find a firmware version that works well for me, I tend to stick with it rather than being swayed by new features. For instance, I'm still using version 16.19 because I didn’t see the need for nap detection (I don't take naps) and wanted to avoid more recent changes, like the removal of continuous vibration for phone calls.

Usually if there is a bug in a release firmware, it will shortly be replaced by a version with a fix.

I don't think the excessive battery drain affects all users.
