Having all sorts of issues with 20.26 - avoid it at all cost. Does anyone know how to revert to an older version of the watch software?

People have been complaining about the poor battery life on the 255/955 in the beta program for a while. Shocking that they released v20.26 as a stable version without fixing the battery life issues.
Yes, I was confronted with that too. This morning I took it and looked through the settings ...
I remembered that this new "Garmin Share" feature came in. I found it under connections. I turned…
I was hoping to find out the same thing. The new update is draining my battery like crazy. From 100% to 60% in 24 hrs.
And how can I decide to finally update? I'm still on v. 16.*.

Have you tried a hard reset?

I remembered that this new "Garmin Share" feature came in. I found it under connections. I turned it off (and the wifi too, as I don't use that on a daily basis either). Since then, the battery consumption seems to be ok.
Since the update to firmware v20.26 the watch is eating battery twice as fast as it used to. I have just disabled "Garmin Share" after reading your comment. I hope it will fix that.
Best,
Kurt.-
use Garmin express app on PC and connect watch.

Nope... changing the "Garmin Share" setting didn't work for me. Watch still burning battery a lot faster than it used to
I've already made a promise to myself that if I'm looking for a bug, I'll only change one thing at a time. Unfortunately, I didn't do that this time. I have the Music version, so it has wifi.
I turned off wifi and "Garmin Share" at the same time. So I don't know 100% what could have caused the improvement, but based on the fact that I had the wifi on before and my watch didn't sink that much, I suspected "Garmin Share".
I'm 3 weeks out from a marathon and I'm seriously considering getting another brand of watch to give me some assurance that I'll be able to monitor and record accurately on the course. My Garmins have always been reliable for me but this firmware update is horribly tested. Too many bad bugs. The rollback steps I've seen on Reddit are possible, but not trivial to apply.
