%HRMax range as training target

My training plan tells me to do workouts e.g. in 70-75 %HRMax range or 80-85. Is there a possibility to define those ranges as training targets? AfaIk it is only HR Zone or defined HR range. The latter I could calculate of course. However, if my HRMax changes, I have to adjust all trainings accordingly…

Does anyone know if it is hidden somewhere and I missed it? Or is it not implemented and you would love to see this feature as well?

  • i do calculate the ranges about the MaxHR to know them, its easy, the maxhr doesnt change much, maybe 1 or 2 bpm if you have the real number, so i do train with zones and also i know the numbers, you can modify everything about heart rate in the garmin app and in the watch, this is what you asked for?

  • Is there a possibility to define those ranges as training targets?

Yes. You can add a new Workout under https://connect.garmin.com/modern/workouts where you set up your ranges and duration for every step of your training. It is easy and really flexible to configure and use. Take a look.

  • Thanks Lewis and global_local: I wanted to get around the manual calculation of the HR ranges, to set it up once and then not touch it anymore even with lowering HR max.

But it seems like it is not possible, so I have to adjust from time to time. Thanks and have a good day!
