This weekend I was at a race track, driving with my car. I wanted to log lap times and speed, but not mess up my regular training values for running or bicycling.
I made a new activity type, based on "other", and enabled the best GPS mode. It worked very well. When uploading the logs to Strava, I even got lap times, since somebody had made a segment for it. So if you want to log something like motorsport or horse riding, this is the way to go.
