try to reset to defaults the watch, and erase all data on it, then reconnect with garmin app and synch
It is bug in HR tracking that was introduced in software updates few months ago. Write to Garmin support and let us know if you find solution. Until now, Garmin has been extremely quiet about this issue that is affecting range of their newer watches.
I updated the firmware yesterday with the new beta version (I was using the last official release before), I will let you know after few runs if this bug seems to be fixed.. or not

This morning I restarted the watch and then pushed: up ️ system ️ software update ️ find an update.

How do I enroll in the Beta Software Program?
- Sign into Garmin Connect (website)
- Click in the upper right
- Click Device Settings to the product you want to enroll
- Click Join Beta Software Program
- Read and Agree to the terms
You are now enrolled in the beta software program.

Hmm, maybe you're not eligible for the beta for whatever reason :/
So, I can confirm that the new beta firmware is not fixing the HR issue
Garmin-Sierra may be it is time to fix the problem? I 'm buying an HR belt but I'm disappointed...
Of course they did not fix it. It has been there for 8 months and there is still no any response from Garmin when it will be resolved for any of the affected watches.
