Trouble Installing Apps on Forerunner 255 Music (Spotify, Komoot)

Hi all,

I'm new to the Garmin community and just got a Forerunner 255 Music. I'm really excited to use it, but I'm having trouble downloading and installing apps. Specifically, I'm trying to get Spotify and Komoot, but neither seem to be working.

Here's what I've tried so far:

Connected to Garmin Express: My watch is recognised and Garmin Express says the firmware is up to date (version 16.17).
Restarted everything: I've tried restarting both my watch and my phone, but no luck.

Is anyone else having similar issues? Any suggestions on what else I can try?

I'm having exactly the same issue. I had no trouble installing Spotify on my Venu 2 but I've just wasted about 4 hours trying to figure out how to install it on my Forerunner 255 Music. I can't see a single solution.

If that's the case, then you must be getting the error message from the Connect IQ store which says that your device needs new firmware :/.

As a CIQ dev, I can confirm that new apps (or recent updates to existing apps) require firmware 19.18, which has been 100% rolled out according to this sticky topic:

Have you tried updating through wi-fi or bluetooth? From the watchface, hold UP for settings, select System > Software Update > Check for Updates.
