merge multisport with single activity

Hi, I've completed a triathlon using the multisport mode on my FR 255S.

It was my first one, all went well but on the run I've accidentally pressed twice after the transition, which made the run last like 3 seconds. I've then started recording a new run.

I have now 2 activities: multisport and run, I would like to merge them, "extending" the multisport to include the last run leg.

I've tried simply merging the two FIT files using https://www.fitfiletools.com/ but when I re-upload on Garmin connect I get a generic error.

I know I can edit the multisport and manually input the run data, but it wouldn't show the GPS data.

It's not the end of the world, but out of curiosity, it seems like you can't just merge a multisport with a single activity?

Any help much appreciated.

Might be possible. Zip the fit files then attach it to this thread. We can take a look to see if it can be done.

Zip the files, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
Or upload the fit files to a reputable file sharing service, such as OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, make the file public, then paste a link to the files in your post.

If you get the message "This file has already been uploaded." You'll need to delete the original multisport activity from Garmin Connect, then upload the fixed file.

Fixed using Fit File Repair Tool
