Spotify "unable to get content"

Hello,

I've been using a Forerunner 255 Music watch for the past 6 months without issues, and since today I am unable to add new podcast or music in my Spotify library. My watch displays the error message "unable to get content". It seems like this error is frequent on Garmin watch from what I've read on several websites.

I've tried to following solutions:

- I turned off and on my watch

- I uninstalled/reinstalled Spotify on my watch

- I checked the software update: everything's fine!

- I uninstalled/reinstalled Garmin Connect on my smartphone (same with spotify!)

I still get this error message. This reason I bought this watch is to run with music or podcast. Anything else you would recommend me to try?

My watch is still under warranty, should I bring it back?

Thanks in advance!

  • Hi. I’ve had many problems adding playlists from Amazon Music or the watch suddenly deleting songs / playlists when it needs to sync to carry on streaming music for me. Try adding your content with your watch on charge at the same time. For some reason, it works better when on charge and fixes the problem. I’m not sure why but give it a try.

  • I'm sorry you're seeing this error message. Please see I Am Having Issues with Spotify on My Garmin Watch, specifically under "Podcasts Unavailable for Download in the Spotify App"

Some podcasts that you listen to using the Spotify app on your phone or computer may not be visible on your Garmin watch for download. This is due to some podcasts not being housed on internal Spotify servers due to their file size. For this reason, these podcasts may not be visible for download or display an "Unable to get content" message on the watch when trying to download the full podcast or a specific episode

As a workaround, you can attempt to include the podcast into a playlist and then download the playlist.

Please make sure the Spotify app in Connect IQ is up to date as well. If you are still seeing the "Unable to get content" message for music, I recommend reaching out to Garmin Product Support directly!

  • Have the same problem since the last update yesterday. Happens with music and podcasts, tested it with playlist with just podcast, just music and mixed of both...always the same problem "unable to get content".

It very frustrating to pay 350€ and it 's fails just before the longrun.

  • This does not help, it's broken since the last 19.18 update from garmin and nothing is changed with the podcasts feets.

It did work before, now not anymore! Nothing changed expected the watch version.
Garmin should not blame other services for the problems garmin makes!

  • Got this message a couple of times in a row trying to access Spotify, even though my watch has the WiFi login. Opened Garmin Connect and hit the Sync button. Once the watch was connected to the app (green button) I tried again, and it connected. Might not be the same issue, but thought I'd add my data.
