Development suggestions

Hello!

I have two development ideas that I would like to share with you.

One is about the phone search function of the watch. To tell you the truth, I find this function difficult to use. Unfortunately, in most cases it has not helped me to find my phone. I thought that in such cases it would be a great help if, after starting the function, my phone would give some kind of beep through the app which would help me find the phone much better.

Also, I personally have problems with the proper warm-up before workouts and the various stretching exercises after a workout. And we know how important this is.

Therefore I thought that if the watch can display animated workouts, then the watch could help with such exercises before and after the workout.

What do you think about my suggestions? I am also curious to know your opinion.

  • Are you on a FR255 ? If yes I do not understand the comment about the phone search function. Personally I find it extremely convenient and easy to use, on the contrary: push the Find my Phone button on my watch, and....that's it. How simpler could it be ? What's even cooler, is that the phone will ring even when in silent mode (my phone is a Samsung S22).

Unless I misunderstood your problem ?

  • My phone does not make any kind of sound. True, I use a Xiaomi phone. So it is phone dependent. I don't know why though.

  • The developer cannot even solve fundamental functions as the terrible heart rate and GPS data, such function as phone findig is absolutely uninteresting

  • Is you phone connected to the watch by bluetooth when you try to find it?
It could also be dependent on what pemissions you have given the Garmin app.

  • Yes, the connection between the watch and the phone is established. The application has all permissions. It also tells you the lap times during your workout. I assume the same permissions are required.

  • I found this on the internet. It helped some people a couple of years ago:

"Had this same problem with my VA3, but after some digging on the Garmin support I was able find an answer. Basically, if your phone uses Android OS, you must allow the Connect App to be "displayed" on top. Changing this setting looks a little different for each phone. I have a Galaxy s10 and I did the following to correct the issue.

Open settings > Apps > Three dots (top right corner) > Special Access > Appear on top > Connect (make sure it is turned on for this app)

This seeming fixed the problem for me!"

  • We did it!
Thank you very much for your help! I'm so grateful for it!
