My Garmin Forerunner 255 which I purchased just under 2 months ago has not been recording a heart rate. The green led lights are off, and i've checked the about page and the WHR version reads 0.00.00. Steps are also not being recorded.
Current version is 18.27.
Ive done the following
- Complete restarts by holding the light button for 15 seconds
- Turned the wrist sensor off, restarted by holding light for 15 seconds, turned it back on and turned heart rate sensor back on.
- Reset to factory settings in the menu system, and by holding light, start/stop and back until I get the two seperate beeps (releasing start/stop, and then releasing back)
- Connected it to Garmin Express to try update, but it says its at the latest version
- Synced it on garmin express to force update detection. After which, when it appears on the screen and I try to update, the garmin restarts and doesnt actually update. Tried to run this update multiple times and the same thing keeps happening.
- Tried to update via the Garmin Connect App through bluetooth. Says there are no available updates.
Other Issues
- Steps are not being recorded as mentioned
- Cannot connect to Wifi because it says the battery is too low despite being close to 100%
- Most successful attempt to update failed once the bar filled up saying 'update failed, connect to Garmin Connect and try there'. Of which once connecting to Garmin Connect, no update is visible.
The watch is still within warranty but this issue is extremely frustrating.
