Some elements of the watch face retain the grey-white color that contrasts well with the black background color but blends in with the white background color.
This is the last layout in the list of "digital" style layouts.
As far as I'm aware this is the only watch face with this issue.
Shame since this is my favorite watch face. I love the look and I personally think the white background color on MIP screens look great in sunlight.
