Note that this only refers to the watch itself - lap data is always available via the app.
Example - 5km workout. Auto-lap enabled.
If I complete the 5km run and then stop the timer, there will be no option to view individual laps. 'Intervals' replaces the 'Laps' option. If I select the first interval there is no option to view individual lap data.
If I stop the timer before 5km (for example at 4.5km) then the 'Laps' option is available - although this defeats the purpose as I've failed to complete the workout.
One problem is that it's almost impossible to stop the timer exactly when the workout distance is reached (5km in this case) - therefore it's inevitable that the workout runs a couple of seconds into the next interval.
Two suggestions:
* Allow users to view data relating to individual laps even if the workout has slipped into the next interval. The phone app allows this - therefore I see no reason why the watch can't do the same.
* Provide the option to automatically stop the timer when the designated distance is reached. This would prevent the workout running into a second interval. The fact that Garmin doesn't offer this option remains the most frustrating aspect of their watch series by in my opinion. I'm always reaching for the stop button during the final few seconds rather than concentrating on finishing the run.
