What's bad in 17.26:

What's bad in 17.26:
1. generally very sluggish - notifications, control.
2. Data loss. My HR and movement data are sporadically not displayed in GC for 2 or more hours.

3. Biggest Afflictions - Sports Features:

a. Pace display was downgraded back to an unusable 20-30 average from an acceptable 10sec average. You see the pace with at least 10 seconds delay. Absolutely useless for intervals or sprints. After the pause nothing is displayed for the first 8-10 seconds. Like this: "--,-". Wonderful, isn't it?

b. Autodetected max HR, LTHR is sometimes not displayed.

c. If detected, the HR zones are not automatically adjusted.

d. Autolap voice notifications sporadically not working. Sometimes on 1, 4, 7 km, sometimes on 2, 6, 8 km - just like that, without any rules.

e. ...and these beautiful “rest days”... ;)

My polite question to Garmin - what's wrong with you, dear Garmin?
When will we finally get rid of the mistakes we once fought against?

  • Sometimes my watch stops sending data to the GC even though the data is saved in the watch. (break). When you press pause, the altimeter changes by a few meters. As if I suddenly teleported several meters up or down.
I then have to reset the watch to start sending data to GC, but then I have to reinstall GC because notifications stop coming.

  • 3a explains my confusion over seemingly really slow pace when starting an interval or a resume.
Pace with 5 second bands averaged over 10s is fine.  Longer than that isnt as you cant adjust to suit.
