Snowboard/Ski laps counting wrong

Dear Garmin team,

When You finally fix bug with snowboard/ski app counting descent, distance and laps when sitting chairlift and going up? Its a very annoying issue which never shoudld happened. Using actually FR255 ver.17.26

Pls make neccessary fix in next software update, I thoug its not a big deal to make it correct. Thanks

  • I have the same problem, also FR 255 v17.26. The strange thing is that in the Runs tab the information for total distance and descent is correct and doesn't include the lifts, it's just the summary distance and descent are wrong.

  • I'm having the same problem since the update last week on my FR255 Music. It's either recording few runs or none at all. The GPS track in live tracking is perfectly fine. Also no problems when tracking running.

  • To be honest, the current version of Ski is a total crap. It pauses in random places, doesn't count the downhills correctly (e.g. on the elevation chart I can see 11 clearly visible peaks but the activity shows 22 rides; on the other one I can see 2 while I did about 10 of them). It doesn't calculate correctly neither the number of rides, nor the total time and distance.

To be honest, the version from the last year, which was counting both uplifts and downhills was much more predictable.

    Shame on Garmin.

  • Same problem here on Fenix sapphire solar since the latest update - each run is counted twice in the summary, although the elevation chart shows the correct number of peaks. Also the total descent is completely wrong (maybe the distance travelled on the lifts is now included?).

  • Yesterday 25 runs about 1km each, on the Runs page all good - the number and the total distance are correct. On the Summary page it shows 43km which might be the distance including lifts.
Funny thing is that if I Edit activity, it shows 50 (doubled number).

  • I can confirm that. Went skiing yesterday - the runs and elevation are counted correctly, but the distance travelled on the lifts is still included.

  • Yes, I’m using same watch and same version !! When going up I’m getting more laps but also more negative elevation !! The total negative elevation in the activity page counts the elevation on the chairlift as also going down while the altitude graph is correct….
Please do something, it’s ridiculous to get 10k negative elevation on a 40km run :/

It was working totally fine last year with the same watch.

  • Same problem with same model. They also had this issue the last ski season. It is taking more than a year to fix. What a disappointment.

  • I have the same problem. The information in the lap report seems to be correct but the summary is incorrect. The worst part about it it that the incorrect version of the data gets uploaded to Training Peaks giving a crazy # for TSS and totally screwing up my CTL.  This problem has existed for a long time and it’s unacceptable that Garmin does not fix it.

  • Same issue on F7X. Last season it worked good, now totally crap. First- lifts are included to total distance, second - run counting doesn't stop on run ends but 2-3 minutes later
