Garmin forerunner 255 & HRV status

My HRV status has been tracking fine until the last 2 nights all I am getting is sporadic information

Is it me, is it my 255 or Garmin connect?

  • Is it me, is it my 255 or Garmin connect?

    rather, your watch strap.

  • Exactly the same for me. Since the last minor updates, no sleep data, no HRV and no heart rate either.

  • I don't think it is the strap as It's the same as it always has been, it's happened since the last minor update

  • Very strange. Try to do a soft reset - hold down a light button for 15 sec.

  • The 15 second soft restart did nothing. This was followed by a small update, which also brought no improvements. I carried out a factory reset, no improvements, still interruptions in the heart rate, resulting in poor HRV and sleep values. I have no idea what else to do.
I will use my FR645 until the next major update, everything works fine with it.

  • I did a soft reset and a factory reset which worked for 4 nights and things were back to normal but last night the error returned, sporadic HRV data, also my heart rate readings whilst on a stationary turbo trainer training in zone 2 heart rate at 115-118 keeps dropping like a stone! It goes from 115-118 down to 80 for 30 seconds or so then ramps back up!

  • My opinion is that this is due to the incorrect attachment of the watch to the wrist

In other words, try fixing the strap tighter to your wrist so as to have a better fit and you will see that you will have all the data and the correct HRV reading.

  • Absolutely nothing to do with the watch strap whatsoever, I have it as tight as I dare without cutting the circulation to my hand!

I am putting it down to ANOTHER unreliable Garmin product!

  • Even after updating to version 17.21, it looked good at first, but the very first night, no heart rate data, no sleep data and no HRV. During the day it sometimes runs normally for hours.
What is also strange is that while the heart rate is missing (the sensor no longer flashes green), the sensor hub shows me version 0.01, previously 27.16. ANT/BLE is version 0.04 also seems a bit strange to me
Bluetooth also seems to have crashed during this.

  • Same problem with my 255S. I’ve been wearing it fine nearly 24/7 since last February. Last night, for reasons unknown, it did not record HRV or detailed sleep data. Also, in a 5K I ran Saturday, it had my HR up in the 190s, higher than my max, while I was purposely running comfortably at a tempo pace. Nothing has changed with my watch strap, etc., It’s running v. 16.19.
