Weather glance query

Does anyone know what the 25/22 means ?

Thanks.

  • Your 25 would be todays high temperature and 22 would be the low temperature.

  • Probably forecast values, since the current value is higher than maximum.

Well this was my assumption, and still is because I don't see what else it could be but looking at the daily forecast page of the widget (see below screenshot), the temperature forecast is quite far from the one advertised at our local observatory and other weather forecasts I have access to, which show 5-6 degrees higher. So I was wondering if I could be missing something. The cloud coverage forecast/rain seems fine. The problem is just the temperature

Does anyone here know what is the source for this forecast information ?

  • I had actually spent some time looking for this info today as it was off my several degrees.
I’ve included some screenshots from another page.

when you open an activity with a map in Garmin Web,  click on the weather icon, on the map and it’ll give you a 4 digit code.  If you Google that airport code, that’s where your particular weather info is coming from.

  • Ok thanks a lot for the response. I am a pilot myself so what you say is talking to me Innocent. I am based in Hong-Kong and as per what you say, when I go on GarminConnect on my PC, it will give VHHH (Hong-Kong International Airport's code) as source of info. Thanks for the tip.

Now, I can compare the current temperature at the airport, for example <here>, 29 degrees, and it is exactly like what my watch is giving. So I think this bit is fine.

The next question is... the forecast. Because to my knowledge, airports don't give forecasts beyond... from memory the longest is 12 hours.

Do you happen to know "where" the forecast data come from then ?

(I believe I'm creating problems for myself and perhaps should just use the forecast given on HK Observatory's mobile app on my phone... lol, may be faster than figuring out what Garmin is trying to do)

  • I’m really not sure ‘where’.  Everything I find on Google says that it’s the closest airport giving that forecast, which doesn’t make sense to me.

The weather on Garmin has never been remotely close to what’s actually happening around me.  I’ve given up and just use the native weather app on the phone.  It’s a bit more accurate Joy

Alright, let me do that too. Again, thanks for the responses.
