Fellas, when going hiking, I can display a "map" on my FR255. See below what I mean.
My map is a little... sad. White background. Isn't there a way to display a better looking map with the terrain etc around ?
Thanks.

Argh sh*t. Ok, thanks a lot.
For my education, for the 955, where does the map come from, as in, it comes from the phone which needs to be continuously connected to the watch via bluetooth ? or can the watch download it's own map via cellular data ?...
It is downloaded onto the watch along with the operating system.
There are however some map applications on the IQ store. I tested it on a Vivoactive 4. It is possible, but not nearly as easy to use as the built in solution.
Thanks for the tip, will take a look at the IQ store (haven't before).
ovekvam I've had a look at the IQ store (thanks again for the suggestion), man there are hundreds of apps I had no idea !
I have installed a few maps and they seem to work, as in I see a map. But, they operate as separate apps and the maps are not added in the Hike activity, correct ? As in, the Hike activity still shows an entirely white background like my above picture.
Just making sure this is how it is supposed to work ?
Yes, then you understand it correctly.
