FR 255 16.19 update // heart rate monitoring freezes mid run!

Hello.

After both latest updates, including the 16.19, the Heart rate monitoring freezes mid run: either at high bpm, or after removing/wearing the watch again it s stuck at low bpm. It messes up the average bpm for my run.. What have you done garmin? Please patch this.

  • Hi ! I'm sorry to hear about this. May I have permission to reach out via email and view these activities, so I can look into this further?

  • For me since 16.19 update it doesn't freeze but let's say I start with an easy pace and the heart rate is between 130-150, mid run even tough I increase my pace it drops to 70-80 bpm and stays on that level. I also had one run where it jumped from ~130 to 170 than was gone and than stayed at a very low level.

  • I have just posted something very similar but have noticed HR display on watch is incorrect. Doing a regular parkrun the watch display showed 2.km run in Z1 whereas it's usually run in Z4 and a bit in Z5. Not impressed but think the overall heartrate recorded ok after uploading. Watch showed 80 bpm for about 2km but on the app shows HR for the first 2km between 130 and 140. any ideas appreciated!

  • Je rencontre la même chose.

  • Wonder if my problem is a variation of this.
Did a base run spot on zone 2.  It recorded as tempo despite HR never leaving zone 2.
But my pace was 20sec/km faster than id normally expect for base.

It looks to me like its using 2 different HRs - one being displayed and another behind the scenes being used for calculations and the former is now inaccurate.
