Hi.
For the last couple of months I've been using DSW to prepare for my first half marathon. I live in a somewhat hilly area, so I've set them to be based on heart rate zones.
For the first few weeks, I had my HR zones set on heart rate reserve, with my HRmax calculated at 191.
Later I did some field tests (uphill repeats), and adjusted my HRmax to 175, which feels much more realistic. I know it's not a perfect value, but it's something between the highest value I've seen in the last 3 years (recoreded by Vivomove HR), and what I could achieve during these field tests (recorded by a chest strap).
At this point, session heart rate zones in my daily suggested workouts have changed according to my new HR zones. I can't remember what they were prior to the change, but after in my base run target became 130 bpm, tempo target 147 bpm and my threshold target 155 bpm.
Once I felt ready to for it, I did a guided LT test. My result was an LT at 149 bpm. I've set my HR zones to be based on LT %. The ranges in my DSW didn't change, and I thought it's because my HR zones didn't change that much.
In the last ~5 months my LT increased to 155 (according to the auto-detected feature). I've made sure to reset my HR zones each time, so they get updated (it's a shame they don't do that automatically). However, DSW still presents me with the same workouts - base run at 130 bpm, tempo at 147 and threshold at 155.
Shouldn't these training ranges change together with my LT, if my HR zones are based on it? I can spend an entire threshold workout below my LT heart rate, which sounds a bit odd to me.
