Happy that TT has been added, but I can't find a way to add step data to be recorded in the activity.
Is it possible to do this?

as right handed player i would like to know how many serves i have done during the match. because usually before serving i am freezing for 2-3 seconds with watch face faced down (because of ball placed on the left hand) and then i do toss directly up. So, it will be cool to have this data as well.
one more thing. usually before opponents serve I also freeze for 2-3 seconds (watchface faced to the left! and then play active until point finished. So probably this is the way to calculate how much points it is played and POWER or steps within each point!
One would think that adding step count would be a basic and easy thing to do. It would be a very powerful option to be able to create/edit new sets of data as described above by Alex Ko.
I bought the Forerunner specifically because the beta version included table tennis. But since I couldn't make it work the way I wanted, I returned it and went with the Fēnix 7X Pro Sapphire Solar for the larger screen and added features.
Still doesn't do what I want with regard to TT (I play with my robot & virtually with Eleven Table tennis for 2-4 hours/day), but maybe someday?
as semi-pro player i can assume, that "walking" steps usually i do only when going for the ball after the point. And during playtime I do small jumps or just move one of legs to do half step. (or strafes)...
I am also upgrade vivoactive3 to 255 last week to be able track table tennis. And just hoping that these features will appear someday...
finally i got last firmware with table tennis. And what i noticed:
1. during 2h training session i made 0.5 km distance with about 800 kcal burned. I don't thing that steps or distance usefull. It is better to hide or off from this activity to not use exta battery...
2. during 4h tournament i did 1.2 km distance (steps) with about 2000 kcal burned. and AVG speed about 1km / h or max speed 20 km/h . what should i use this info for?))
I am only oriented on HR zone, trying playing only within 3rd zone, and eat snack after 500 ccal treshhold ))
Worse than that, about an hour into my training - my watch loudly and proudly proclaims that I completed my 1st lap.
I'm not running, I'm playing table tennis. Why would they enable this for a racquet sport? And how do I disable that annoying "feature"?
haha) it can be disabled on the watches in activity settings.
I use LAPs manually between matches (by pressing "beck"), so it is easier to understand in which match I had more HR or just for counting of matches. So I found laps feature quite useful as workaround to detect matches automatically.
