Auto Pause on technical trails is useless?

Is Auto Pause on technical trail runs useless? As soon as you slow down/walk "without stopping" for technical ascents/descents, it pauses, and it then waits until you start running at around 8:00/km to resume again. Toggling Auto Pause between "when stopped" and "custom 36:00/km" makes no difference. My average pace from start to finish with pauses/stops was 16:04/km.

Multiband GPS does not seem help. Why? Surely the Trail Running activity should have a different version/sensitivity of Auto Pause that is able to work with walking on technical trails. Seems like the Auto Pause on the Trail Running is a copy and paste from the default Running activity.

Here is my activity. Auto pause easily cut off at least 2km from the total distance. Officially, it was listed as a 22km.
