"Track timer" alert

Hello,

could someone explain to me exactly how the track race alert "track timer" works? I don't quite understand how it works,

It's a timer to help you stay on pace. For example, you could set a target time for every 200m of an 800m repeat. The alert will reset with every lap press and auto lap alert.
