"Do not disturb" changes to OFF every morning following patch 15.19

I want my Do not Disturb to be ON all the time. 24/7.

Following the latest patch, every morning my watch buzzes and sends me a bunch of notifications because it has turned OFF the Do not Disturb, forcing me to turn in ON again. Every morning.

Any way around this new bug ?

Thanks.

  • Maybe I'm not understanding, but what do you want it to do?  If you never want notifications, why do you enable them?

You could set the alert settings to disable sound/vibration in the Notifications and Alerts -> Smart Notifications settings menu. I have "texts" and "apps" turned "off" for both "during activities" and in "general use". I think you can also disable selectively in GCM settings if you care about some but not others for app notifications. Then they won't be forwarded to the watch at all.

I only get a vibration for incoming calls. For texts, I'll just see the little status indicator with a number of notifications, but no alerts.

Most of the time, I don't even want phone call alerts, so I just disable the bluetooth phone link in the controls menu. It doesn't turn itself back on.

I don't even keep the do not disturb control on the control menu since it doesn't add anything of value to me.

I never want to receive notifications indeed, but unfortunately notifications  re-enable themselves every morning automatically - without me doing anything. Wasn't like than before 15.19.

Perfect, I think this works, thanks for pointing out to this setting which I had not discovered. I unchecked all apps, and it seems I don't receive any notification now, even when Do Not Disturb is OFF.

  • By the way, I did poke around in the settings again after posting, and for the do not disturb function there is a setting for during sleep.  I don't know if I set it that way on an earlier firmware or if the upgrade invented this new setting.

But, you might need to disable that sleep schedule option if you wanted to keep using do not disturb. I imagine it just blindly enables and disables on the schedule, rather than having some extra state to remember how it was set ahead of time.

  • Yes I did see the sleep schedule function (but don't know if it's new or not) and considered disabling it. But there would be no use as your trick to uncheck all apps works totally fine for me already ThumbsupGrinning. Thank you again !
