Only 3,1 GB free storage on Garmin 255 Music for mp3 files, normal?

Hi there,

how much free storage do you have on your 255 music available?

I only have 3,5 gb in total (shown in the Garmin Express Music Application - instead of 4 gb from the specs) and over 400 MB are used in the category „others“. That means I can only use less than 3,1 gb for Music (which is way below than the 4gb and only enough for ~300 songs).

I don‘t know what’s in the category others (perhaps the latest software version needs more capacity?!), no additional App installed; SW is 15.19.

Is this normal - do you have the same size/GB available (respectively also 400 MB used in „others“)? Has anyone an idea how I can reduce „others“ in order to have more capacity for music?

    I don't think the specs mean 4GB of music space was available. It is just the total flash memory size, but everything else is stored in there too. Firmware, CIQ widgets and apps, satellite ephemeris, uploaded courses, saved activities, and other health and fitness data.

    If you have been recording a lot of activities, you might free up a little space by making sure you have everything synced to your Garmin Connect account and then using History -> Delete all Activities from the watch...

    i already made a hard reset and deleted all but nothing changed - still only 3,1 GB left for music.

    probabely this is meant to be - but I was wondering because I could store more music on my old 745…
