VO2

My girlfriend has a FR255S that she’s actually ran with for probably 10 total times. I have an EPIX2 and have ran with it a lot more. Can someone explain to me how or why her VO2 has been in the purple “excellent” since she bought the thing and she barely uses it? Makes no sense to me. It never goes down and never goes up. I run farther and longer than her too?

My problem is that I believe the VO2max my watch is giving me is too high. I think it's because I never adjusted my HRmax. The default value is 220-age which, for me, results in 190 bpm. My real HRmax is definitely lower, I think somewhere around 175 bpm.

As soon as I corrected HRmax, my VO2max started dropping. It's been around 6 weeks now, and it hasn't yet stabilized.
So, I think that your HRmax might be set too low, or your girlfriends HRmax is set too high.

Oh, just to clarify.
I'm not sure if HRmax is important here or the HR zones that are associated with it. Probably the latter.
