Either by me, or by bringing it back to a Garmin store.
I had a look at the manual but they don't say anything about changing the battery. I don't have any issue with my battery, I just want to know.
Thanks.

Probably that’s not intended.
Maybe some Garmin Service Center could do it, but I doubt that a store could do it.
On the other hand: I had the FR 245 (which is smaller and had overall around half of the battery life of the 255) for a little more than two years. In my perception the battery life was still nearly as good as when it was new.
So I wouldn’t worry too much about that.
Ok, thank you.
For example, my FR245 Music battery started to drain about 3,5 years after my purchase. I run 80k each week. Before I change it (for a 255M), the battery was draining 15 to 20% per hour randomly during activity. I was hoping 5 to 6 hours of activity.
Someone I known has the same model and does not run. The battery is still ok for her usage.
In futur, I wish, a replacement would be possible on garmin devices. But it would have to mean that software is upgraded for years. Currently it is not the case. If you want to upgrade you've got to throw your device to replace it by another.
Hope the business model will change.
