New running dynamics

I'm already able to have the new wrist based live running dynamics information( vertical ocilation, vertical ratio and ground contact time) on my 255 but still can't see the info after the activity, maybe because this information is not saved?

Just wondering if and when this information will be make 'official' and I'll be able to see this information on the Web or App after my runs

  • How can you see them? Software version?

  • I guess the data fields are always available, but I didn't think they had any useful content unless you wear a sensor that actually provides running dynamics data.

  • My watch is already measuring and showing  the data while running, just not saving so I can see the data in GC or Web afterwards. I'm on 14.20.

  • Does it seem accurate? I have a HRM Pro to provide running dynamics, but I can't seem to get it calibrated, so the data are way off. Particularly pace. If I jog at 10 km/h, it will guess correctly, but it thinks I am running at 15 km/h when I am actually sprinting at 25 km/h. To get this correct, I probably have to run outdoors with GPS at 25 km/h for a couple of hours, and that is impossible for natural reasons (I am 51 years old).

  • They have been available for a while now. Create a new custom data screen with 6 fields and use the run dynamics fields, half of the fields don't work because the watch is not in a central position to measure symmetry, but a lot of them work and show live data. Garmin is simply not saving that data on the activity so you cannot see it on GC. They are probably waiting for the 265 to sell more units before they allow the 255 to save the data.

  • Do you have "pace and speed" set to "Indoors Only" in the settings for the HRM-PRO.  When the HRM is connected to the watch, go to the sensors settings and you will see the option there.

  • Yes, I do. The watch is a lot better at guessing my pace variations without the HRM Pro.
