Cadence calculation is still broken on 14.20

Hi,

I've noticed that cadence doesn't look fine during the runs and the last run was accompanied by a metronome set to 180 bpm.

There was a thread about similar issues on 12.23. Is the fix supposed to be included to 14.20 or I need to apply some custom update?

  • Any update on this? I am seeing the same issue on my 265.

  • Is this with the watch only, or with external cadence sensor like HRM Pro or a footpod?
If it is the watch only, it is based on movement from your watch arm, and the watch seems to sometimes only pick up every second step. Compare your arm swing to other runners, to see if it is unusual.

I have no such issues with the same software, so it seems to work fine with my arm swing (and also with my HRM Pro).

  • This is watch only. Nothing unusual in the arm swing - cadence worked perfectly on the 955 earlier.

  • Maybe something wrong with the motion sensors in your watch, then.

  • I had the exact same issue. The metronome with vibration affects the running records, including cadence, pace, distance, running power and running dynamics. You will see the numbers change If you place the watch on the floor and run with the metronome on vibrate. In a nutshell, Garmin found it defective; the internal component failure. They asked me for a refund/ exchange.
