14.20 Bug - Continuously increasing Heart Rate During Easy Run & 0W Running Power to boot!

I had running power enabled and wrist based power

Using a running pod which I do most of the time.

I tested side-by-side with my very reliable Polar OH1 which has never had any issues at all.  Temperature was 7 degrees C outside so maybe it can't cope with slightly cold weather?

similar to this old bug :

  • I don’t know if my problem is related to yours. Since installing 14.20 the time in power zones is not showing in Garmin Connect. The Power is being recorded and the graph is showing. It’s just the breakdown into zones which is missing. I’m using an RD Pod

  • Power showing up now after switching from "Wrist Only" to "Smart" & connecting the RD pod.  Might have to do another wrist only test to see if something's broken.  Time in zones showing up but zones 5 and 6 look a but strange with those limits

so you see nothing at all in there?

  • No, nothing at all. It was all working fine before update.

  • that's strange because if the system has all the power data it should be able to calculate the time in zones, it's almost like that's calculated on the watch - surely it's not doing that!

  • Actually just checked and the time in zones shows on the watch, just not in connect app on phone or web interface. Weird

  • Look like I found the issue with the zero Watts - the battery was well below 3V - so although the running pod was connected it didn't have enough battery to send out data - for the speed it must have defaulted to GPS but the software doesn't do the same for Watts it seems :

    old battery

    new battery

  • I had a run today where I should have had some time in power zone 5, but the limts are crazy:

    Zone 6   > 0 Watts
    Zone 5   489 -  -1 Watts
    Zone 4   425 - 488 Watts

I had up to 738W in some of my intervals, but no time in zone 5 or 6. Definitely a Garmin bug. Maybe this bug is the reason why lactate measurements are not working.
